Evolving Indian Civilization
The civilization of India is almost 5000 years old and its one of the oldest living one in the world. The practices and rituals performed by the ancestors are still followed by people of India. It is an astonishing fact that majority of the people want to stick to their ancestral beliefs and customs despite the modernisation of our country. The Indian civilization have proved that modernisation can run parallel along the orthodox customs. The greatest speciality about our civilization is that our rituals and beliefs are not rigid but flexible and are prone to changes. For all these years, our entire social system have been changing which can be termed as a self cleansing process.
Indian civilization had many customs and rituals which were inhumane & unethical. There were caste system, untouchables, practice of sathi, status of widow…etc., the count may be endless. But the fact is that just like anyother thing in the world, our civilization also cannot be perfect.People from all communities and societies have tried to make our civilization better, and thats why its evolving.Practices like the untouchability and sathi have been removed almost completely and the status of widow have been improved. But still their practice of caste system in our society.Eventually the caste system will also deteriorate from our civilization as there are more number of intercaste marriages happening. It has to happen, there is no other way.
Long back, rulers from India had ruled regions now known as Indonesia, our rulers had spread our culture there also.People there considers our civilization as sacred than we does.Maximum number of people in a region outside India which practices our traditions is in the Bali region of Indonesia.People there have encouraged inter caste marriages and now u can see hardly any caste system there. We should follow what they have done to improve our traditions.People outside India are accepting this culture more than Indians does.Organisations like ISKCON, BAPS…etc. are helping to spread our culture across the world. Now there are several followers of Indian culture, the number is growing faster than ever before.
